From humble beginnings Bar Pho is now synonymous with some of the best pho in Sydney and the original market stalls have grown to include two permanent CBD restaurants. With Bar Pho Caters we’re continuing to spread the love, helping to nourish the hearts and minds of busy Sydney professionals with feel-good Vietnamese food.
Tina Do is the founder and co-owner of Bar Pho. A master of quintessential Vietnamese dishes, her passion for the food runs deep.
Born in Vietnam Tina came to Australia as a 1-year-old and grew up surrounded by happy food memories. Her love for Vietnamese cuisine came from her mother who would fill their small Cabramatta apartment with the smell of aromatic spices and slow cooking meats. But it was her failed attempts to find a tasty MSG-free pho that inspired Tina to open Bar Pho with the simple desire to introduce Sydneysiders to great tasting Vietnamese food, that didn’t use MSG for flavour.
Today, Tina pays homage to her heritage with dishes that masterfully blend the salty flavours North Vietnam, where her Mum was born, with the sweet tastes of the South, where her Dad is from. With new twists on old classics, she’ll continue to share her love of healthy, honest food and create memorable food experiences, one bowl at a time.
